PLSS Map

A Public Land Survey System (PLSS) uses a system of surges to divide public portions of land owned by the Federal Government of the United States. The PLSS uses a specific division plan in which involves dividing land into townships, and subdividing these townships further with th use of an initial point. This is an example of PLSS being used in the United Sates and showing the Prime meridians and base lines running through each state. Prime meridians run north and south, through the initial piont, while the base line runs east and west to it.
